Standard Operating Procedure: HandScanner Pre-Shipment Quality Checks

Title: QA Process for PathSpot HandScanner - Initial Setup & Verification


1. Scope

  • Complete this SOP for all scanners before shipment to confirm they are functional and meet PathSpot's quality standards.

2. Responsibilities

  • QA Tech: Performs the steps below and records results for each scanner


3. Procedure

Step Task Expected Result Expected Time to Complete
1 Remove & Confirm Boxed Materials Device and accessories are intact and free of physical damage. All items included in each box can be found here. 1 min
2 Charge the Scanner & Verify LED lights / Proximity Sensor is functional Verify the power cord is working and the tablet is charging.  This can be verified by waiving your hand under the scanner and seeing the purple lights illuminate. 15 sec
3 Turn the device on If the tablet does not power on immediately, allow it to charge overnight and try again the following day. After a full charge, unplug the device, then plug it back in to initiate the boot process.

If the device still fails to power on after an overnight charge, classify it as a QA failure.

Devices that don't need overnight charge: No active time.

 

Devices that need overnight charge: 1 min to set up. No active time needed overnight to verify.

4 Register the device & connect to WiFi Confirm the screen to enter a registration code populates and then register the device with the code "refurb".

Connect the device to WiFi and select check for updates. This can be found by navigating to the settings page.

  5   Complete a Scan  Place your hands under the scanner and complete a full scan with your palms facing up, then with your palms facing down. 15 sec
  6    Perform a factory reset  FACTORY RESET STEPS:
1.      Go to Settings
2.     Select Developer Options
3.     Enter the password: password
4.     Reset Device

 7 Complete QA step After the device restarts, complete the calibration process. You may need a stylus to perform these steps efficiently.

 8 Final Check 

Perform a final assessment for any noticeable physical damage or unexpected device behavior (i.e.  screen looping, continuous cycling, or repeatedly powering off and on).

Final step should be to fasten the camera lenses. Be careful to not touch the actual lens.

4. Documentation For a Pass

  • Log each device that passes QA into inventory under the SKU  "A3441W03-Q2-2021-PASS".
    • ALL STEPS NEED TO BE PASSED TO QUALIFY

5. Non-Conformance Handling 

If a device fails any step categorize it in the “Hold – Failed QA.”

  1. Please select any of the following reasons that apply

    1. Failed to power on at all 

    2. Powered on (lights working), but screen did not turn on

    3. Proximity sensor not functioning (unable to detect hands)

    4. Hand scan did not successfully complete

    5. Screen unresponsive / blank display

    6. Camera malfunction

    7. Wi-Fi connectivity issue

    8. Noticeable physical issue or missing equipment

 

 

> RSSI Must be -55 or better to pass

> It is reccomonded to use a stylus to pass the screen calibration section

DO NOT USE BYPASS UNLESS EXPLICITLY DIRECTED TO BY PATHSPOT
