Zebra Printers; Connecting To WiFi OR Bluetooth

If you are setting up or reconnecting your Zebra printer to WiFi or Bluetooth, please refer to the following guide.

How to Connect Your Zebra Printer to WiFi for Use with the PathSpot SafetySuite App

(For WiFi-enabled “W” models only — see bottom of printer to confirm)

Step 1: Download the Zebra Printer Setup Utility App

  • On your iPhone, iPad, or Android device, go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • Search for and download the “Zebra Printer Setup Utility” app.

Step 2: Confirm Your Printer is WiFi-Compatible

  • Look for the barcode label on the bottom of the printer.

  • If it includes the WiFi symbol, your printer supports wireless connectivity.

Step 3: Prepare the Printer

  • Plug in the Zebra printer and power it on.

  • Ensure your mobile device is near the printer.

Step 4: Connect to the Printer via the App

  1. Open the Zebra Printer Setup Utility app.

  2. Tap “Discover Printers”.

  3. Once the scan is complete, tap the printer name to connect.

    Note: The printer name is also located on the label on the bottom of the device      

Step 5: Configure Wireless Settings

  1. After connecting, tap “Connectivity Settings” > “Wireless”.

                                          
  2. Enter the following WiFi details:

    • ESSID: Your WiFi network name

    • Security Mode: WPA PSK

    • Wireless Band: Leave as "ALL"

    • Country: Select USA/Canada if available, otherwise leave blank

    • Channel List: Leave blank

         

  3. Tap “Next” twice to reach the password entry screen.

  4. Enter your WiFi password, then tap “Next” and “Apply”.

                                   

Step 6: Finalize Connection

  • The printer will restart automatically.

  • It will flash orange, then turn solid green once connected to WiFi.

  • Print a test label to confirm the connection was successful.

Important Note

*Ensure the iPad or iPhone running the PathSpot SafetySuite App is connected to the same WiFi network as the Zebra printer for proper functionality.

How to Connect Your Zebra Printer to Bluetooth for Use with the PathSpot SafetySuite App

These steps are similar to the ones outlined above, with a few key differences. Most notably, the printer can only maintain a Bluetooth connection with one device at a time. To ensure a successful connection, please turn off Bluetooth on any other devices that may have previously connected to the printer or are currently within range. Additionally, remove the printer from the list of known devices on those devices before proceeding.

Step 1: Download the Zebra Printer Setup Utility App

  • On your iPhone, iPad, or Android device, go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • Search for and download the “Zebra Printer Setup Utility” app.

Step 2: Confirm Your Printer is Bluetooth-Compatible

  • Look for the barcode label on the bottom of the printer.

  • If it includes the BT symbol, your printer supports bluetooth connectivity.

Step 3: Prepare the Printer

  • Plug in the Zebra printer and power it on.

  • Ensure your mobile device is near the printer.

Step 4: Connect to the Printer via the App

  • Open the Zebra Printer Setup Utility app.

  • Tap “Discover Printers”.

  • Once the scan is complete, tap the printer name to connect.

    Note: The printer name is also located on the label on the bottom of the device      

Step 5: Configure Bluetooth Settings

  • After connecting, tap “Connectivity Settings” > “Bluetooth”.

                                         
  • Ensure that both the Bluetooth and Discoverable options are turned on. At this stage, you can also rename the printer to a more user-friendly name if desired.

  • Confirm the below settings match these and click “NEXT”:


  • Click “Apply” - The printer will restart and save all settings

Step 6: Finalize Connection

  • After the printer restarts, open the Settings app on your iPad or iPhone.
  • Toggle Bluetooth off and then back on, and wait for the printer to appear in the list of available devices.
  • Select the printer to establish a connection.
  • Next, open the PathSpot App and navigate to the Labeling tab to print a label.
  • Ensure that the icon in the top-right corner is the Bluetooth symbol, confirming a successful connection.

Important Note

You might need to select a template on the PathSpot App settings page:

  • Navigate to Settings>> Printer>> click 2x1 and attempt to print.
  • If text is too small, Navigate to Settings >> Printer >> Click 1x1 and attempt to print again.
