Adding App Users (Mobile Application iOS)

This article outlines the steps required to create users in our iOS mobile application.

Please note that this process is different from creating Dashboard Users or generating Employee Codes for the HandScanner; directions of which can be found here

Function Overview

All customers have the ability to create unique permission sets tailored to specific roles. By default, most locations will begin with two standard roles:

  • Employee: Grants access to complete tasks within the app and view notes.

  • Admin: Provides access to all available functions. If certain features appear unavailable, it's likely that your location does not have that product enabled (e.g., PowerLabels).

If you'd like to configure more advanced or customized permission sets, please contact us at support@pathspot.com.

Creating Users

If your user account has the necessary permissions, you can create new users directly in the app. You can either:

  • Create a new user from scratch (email not required), or

  • Select an existing Dashboard user from the dropdown list (see attached video for a walkthrough).

User Creation Flow

Settings > Users > Add User >
Choose either Create New User or Select Existing User

Once youโ€™ve reached this step, you'll be prompted to assign a permission set to the user. This is where the previously discussed roles come into play. If you need to create new roles or make changes to existing ones, our support team is happy to assist.

Note: In most cases, you can ignore the "Extra Permissions" dropdown.

Click Save, and you're done!

Logging In

The next time the new user opens the app, theyโ€™ll see their name in the existing user dropdown. They just need to:

  1. Select their name

  2. Create a four-digit PIN

This PIN will serve as their login credential moving forward.

Managing Users

At any time, you can see which user is currently logged inโ€”or switch usersโ€”by tapping the username in the top left corner of the screen.
