WiFi OR Bluetooth

Connecting your printer to Bluetooth

To connect to the Brother printer, please make sure the bluetooth has Bluetooth Classic enabled by following the steps below.

  1. On the Printer, press MENU, and then use the up and down arrows to navigate to Bluetooth
  2. Click on Bluetooth (on/off). Use the arrows to select On and click OK.
  3. Navigate back into Bluetooth Settings and click Mode. Use the arrows to select Classic & LE and click OK.
  4. Navigate back into Bluetooth Settings and click Bluetooth Secure Connect. Use the arrows to select Standard Mode and click OK.
  5. Navigate back into Bluetooth Settings and click Automatic Reconnection. 
    1. If you are printing out of a single iPad: Use the arrows to select ON and click OK.
    2. (NOT STANDARD) If you are printing out of multiple devices: Use the arrows to select OFF and click OK.

NOTE: This setting will determine whether your printer automatically connects back to known devices or not. If you set this to off this means you might need to manually connect each time.

WiFi

Option 1: Pairing Through WPS:

> DO NOT CONNECT VIA WiFi without PathSpot's approval

Confirm that your Wifi Router has the WPS symbol  or β€œWPS” labeled button. If this Symbol is not present, please use a different method.

  1. Place the printer next to your Wifi Router.
  2. Press the WPS button on your Wifi Router. 
  3. On the Printer, press MENU, and then use the up and down arrows to navigate to WLAN > WPS Button Push/WPS Pin Code.
  4. Select Start on the Selection Menu when it appears. Press OK.
  5. When a connection is established, the WLAN icon will appear on the printer’s LCD

Option 2: Paring Through SSID (WiFi Network)

  1. Menu
  2. WLAN
  3. Infrastructure Mode Manual Setup
  4. Select WiFi Network (if hidden, select other)
  5. Enter password (if there is no password, leave blank)

Appendix

If the Printer was accidentally manually reset, there are two ways to reconfigure the printer. The first one requires access to a router while the other requires a Windows computer with the Brother printer settings tool installed
